The epr scheme for
food service packaging
Everything you need to know

Since 15 March 2024, businesses selling bulk-packaged food products to food service professionals have been required to reduce their environmental impact.

It was the AGEC Act that extended the principle of Extended Producer Responsibility to food service packaging.

Transition
to the professional packaging sector

As soon as the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) scheme for professional packaging comes into force, the EPR scheme for the food service sector will be absorbed into it. To help you navigate this transition as smoothly as possible, CITEO PRO remains at your service.

After this date, CITEO PRO’s accreditation for the food service EPR scheme will no longer be valid. As a producer, you will therefore need to enter into a new contract with an accredited Producer Responsability Organisation under the professional EPR scheme in order to continue to meet your regulatory obligations.

CITEO PRO brings together all stakeholders in the food service EPR scheme

Whether you are a producer, a food service business, a collection and/or reuse operator, the Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) scheme for food service packaging invites you to develop effective measures to improve the management of packaging within your sector. This applies to all primary or secondary food service activities: indoor or outdoor, eat-in or takeaway, individual or collective.
