Epr scheme
What is it?

Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR) schemes requires companies that produce, sell or import packaging or packaged products to take responsibility for their end-of-life management in order to limit their environmental impact. 

EPR schemes allows these producers to transfer part of their responsibility to an accredited Producer Responsability organisation in return for the payment of an eco-contribution. 

In France, there are nearly twenty EPR sectors: household packaging and graphic paper, electrical and electronic equipment, toys, chemicals, textiles, etc.
